I fell in love with reptiles when, in 2004, my family and I went to Hartley's Crocodile Farm in Cairns.  There, the guy at the snake show had a copperhead, and told the audience, that if we wanted a snake, it was a good idea to jump up and down on your parents in bed at 2am and say repeatedly, "Can I get a snake?!"

One year later, I had my first snake, a six month old spotted python, Antaresia maculosa, named Panda.

Since then, my collection has grown, and will certainly continue to do so.  I plan on spending almost every single waking hour looking after reptiles outside work.

Last Thursday, on 2nd October, 2008, I bought my first non-snake reptile.  I give you my central bearded dragon, Pogana vitticeps, named DiNozzo.  He was seven months old.

* I'm not entirely sure if I want children's pythons.  They're pretty much like spotteds, except smaller, but they usually don't have the beautiful patterning of the maculosa species.  Maybe, maybe not.
