The Freak Show, as I'm affectionately called...
I was born in one of the typical, over-bleached rooms that all hospital maternity wards seemed to have. Even then, at not 0.9 minutes old, I was causing a fuss. I remember mum saying much later that I was born blue, which I figure is pretty cool. When I was at least twenty minutes old, my grandfather came in, picked me up, and began telling the other nearby newly mothers, that "his granddaughter is better than your kid", I'm paraphrasing, but you get my point.
At even that young age, I was told that I was special, different. My mum reckoned I was going to be bi-sexual, but yeah, her prediction is yet to become true ;)
Years later, I developed that seemingly universal ability that all kids have. The one where you can both scare and freak your parents at the same time. My outlet for such ability was when I began bringing lizards and bugs home. I remember sitting in the car after school, and opening a big wad of folded paper. I think mum thought that I was showing her a picture that I drew. ...lol. No, I opened it, and out jumped a huge, and probably terrified, skink. I distinctly remember her screaming.
I don't really think I've changed since then. I still like bringing home reptiles for mum to find, lol. Now, however, I've grown up and my perception of the world has changed. When I was young, I completely believed in the human race (as, I'm sure, most kids do). Now, I think we're cruel and that we're really not as good as we think we are.
Now, I'm sarcastic, and I hide my feelings. I don't have a particular reason why, I just do. I love 99% of my family, and I'd go into bat for any of those if they were in trouble. I try to cherish those people who I consider true friends, and everyone else can go to hell for all I care.
I like things like this, because it forces me to really look at my character. So, too, do some of the really cool questionaires that people e-mail you, or tag you with. There's a good one on my deviantart.
